Nature’s purest beauty is
still untouched here at the only water-based national park in the country.
Established in 1975, Minnesota’s only national park honors a key stretch
of waterway canoed by 18th century French-Canadians who transported goods
& furs along the border lakes. Modern-day “Voyageurs”
still travel these waters as the best means of
exploring the park & surrounding areas. |

Water-skiing, hiking or
relaxing in the sun are just a few things to do while
exploring our 5 major lakes.
Deer, soaring bald eagles, osprey, loons, herons &
ducks are
common sites. Enjoy shore lunch, pick berries
all summer long & watch the world go by. In September
our fall colors are spectacular! And our winters -
snowmobile miles & miles of lakes & trails for a great
adventure.
